Several workers on Wednesday (20 May) allegedly clashed with Haryana police when they were barred from entering Gurugram’s Udyog Vihar area from Delhi.

The crowd of over hundred workers gathered at Delhi-Haryana border near Palam Vihar also allegedly pelted stones at the cops, which caused injuries to five police personnel, The Tribune reported. An FIR in the matter is also being filed.

The Gurugram police, as quoted in the report, said the Delhi police were not stopping people, which is why they are having arguments with us.

According to reports, the workers from Delhi’s Kapasera and Bijwasan area tried to enter Gurugram’s Udyog Vihar as the Haryana government allowed all industries in the area to function. The workers from Delhi who work in those industries, however, got enraged after the cops stopped them at the border.

According to a Dainik Jagran report, the cops acted on the orders of Gurugram Collector Amit Khatri who had earlier directed the police to not let anyone from Delhi enter the city for for work purpose.
