Union Home Minister Amit Shah will launch the 'Ayushman CAPF' scheme from Assam's Guwahati on Saturday (23 January), reports Times of India.
The scheme for Central Armed Polices Forces (CRPF) will be launched by Shah at the Central Reserve Police Force's (CRPF) Group Centre at Aminagaon in Guwahati.
It should be noted that HM Shah is on a two-day visit to Assam and Meghalaya.
The treatment availed under the scheme will either be on cashless or reimbursement basis.
According to the Home Ministry officials, the scheme will increase manifold the medical facilities currently available to the CAPF personnel. Currently, they can only avail such healthcare facilities at 600 CAPF hospitals and 1,400 CGHS hospitals.
"Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Central government is committed to the welfare of CAPF personnel. The Ayushman CAPF scheme operated by the National Health Authority has been specially designed keeping in mind the needs of Central forces. Through this, health services will be expanded for CAPF serving personnel and their dependents," a home ministry official was quoted as saying.
