Has The Indian Air Force Busted A Terror Plot? Man Carrying Sensitive Pictures Of Air Force Station Arrested

Security officers of the Indian Air Force have arrested a man, who was reportedly planing an attack on the Yelahanka Air Force Station in Bengaluru, where India’s premier air show Aero India 2017 is set to take off on 14 February. The 24-year-old plotter, identified as Mamnun, was working at the air force station as a welder and belongs to the Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that Mamnun had photographs of the restricted areas and sensitive information on his phone and had made several calls to Saudi Arabia in the last few days. He was carrying nine different sim cards.
Bengaluru police commissioner Praveen Sood has said that an FIR has been registered against the accused for allegedly carrying sensitive pictures of the air base, but has denied linking the episode to a terror plot. Contrary to this, the Indian Air Force has said that its officers arrested the accused while he was in the restricted area, talking to someone in Saudi Arabia, and has pointed towards a possible terror plot.
