Senior Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Wednesday (22 January) invited his new alliance partners to accompany Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray in his visit to Ayodhya to mark the 100 days of his government.

There Uddhav is expected to seek blessing of Lord Rama and Raut has extended an invitation to Rahul Gandhi by pointing out that the former Congress president too visits many temples.

Raut had recently courted controversy by revealing that former prime minister Indira Gandhi used to visit dreaded Mumbai gangster Karim Lala. He subsequently withdrew his statement after being purportedly criticised by the Congress party.
