Congress President Rahul Gandhi has gone to the grassroots to select the Chief Minister of the newly won states - Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, by sending an audio over the last 24 hours to around 2.4 lakh party workers. In the message, Gandhi has asked the party workers who they want as Chief Minister.

“Now I want to ask you a vital question: Who should be the chief minister? Please mention just one name. I'm the only person who would know whom you are naming. No one in the party will know. Please speak after the beep,” said the audio message.

The contest for the Rajasthan Chief Ministerial post remains between Sachin Pilot and Ashok Gehlot. While two-thirds of the newly elected Congress lawmakers want Sachin Pilot as the Chief Minister, the others are batting for Gehlot-a two time Chief Minister of Rajasthan. In Madhya Pradesh, on the other hand, the battle is between Kamal Nath and Jyotiraditya Scindia. However, the party legislators gave party President Rahul Gandhi a green signal to select the Chief Minister himself, reports NDTV.

Rahul Gandhi has stated that the opinions from different people - MLAs, workers, and the public will see the Chief Minister (s) soon.
