The much-awaited Hi-Tec City metro rail connectivity project has been inaugurated with Governor E S L Narasimhan flagging off services from the Ameerpet Interchange station at 9.30 am amidst top metro rail, municipal and police officials on 20 March (Wednesday).

General public’s commercial operations began from 4 pm onwards and initially at a frequency of 9-12 minutes from Ameerpet to Hi-Tec City. The last train will be at 10.30 pm which will depart from Hi-Tec City, reports The Hindu.

Furthermore, another stretch of 1.5 km up to terminal Raidurg station is also slated to be completed later in 2019 so that Corridor III - Nagole to Hi-Tec City/Raidurg of 28 km is completed in all respects.

Corridor Two - Jubilee Bus Station to MGBS which is of 9.5 km length is expected to be completed by November, while the Old City route of about 5 km from MGBS to Falaknuma remains to be constructed.

It is believed that the number of passengers commuting daily will cross the three lakh mark once the line stabilises.
