Guillaume Pepy, chairman of French National Railway Company (SNCF), complimented Hyderabad Metro, saying it’s one of the best Metros in the world and that its performance shows that it is way better than other Metros, reports New Indian Express.

Pepy and his team visited Metro Rail Bhavan, Hyderabad, and spoke with Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) Managing Director NVS Reddy and praised the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) experiment as a “bold initiative”.

The SNCF, worth Rs 2.68 lakh crore, runs the French National Railways and has five other major rail companies like Keolis and Systra.

Reddy shared Telangana government’s vision for a “Global Hyderabad” and its Phase-II plans. He told Pepy that Hyderabad Metro was the world’s largest PPP mode Metro in terms of innovations in construction and finance.

The SNCF chairman highlighted that Hyderabad Metro stood number one in a recent survey regarding passenger satisfaction, operational performance, punctuality among other parameters.

Inspired by Hyderabad’s success in the use of Metro to improve pedestrian facilities and streetscapes and handling of construction hurdles, Pepy invited Reddy to come to their Railway Headquarters in France and share their success story.
