'I Won't Be A Silent Spectator': Shah Accuses Maharashtra Govt Of "Biased Behaviour" Towards Cooperatives

Accusing the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra of "biased behaviour" towards cooperatives, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah has warned that he will not remain an "idle spectator".
Shah, who was on a two-day visit to Maharashtra, claimed that bank guarantees are not being provided to sugar mills in Maharashtra that have links to the opposition leaders.
“The state government has been helping out sugar factories on the basis of who runs these boards and what their political affiliation is,” Shah said at an event in Ahmednagar on Saturday, reports Economic Times.
He added, “Why do we at the Centre have to give hearings to the issues of cooperatives in the state. Why are these issues not being resolved in the state? Some people's issues are getting resolved and some are not being resolved... I can only say that I will not be a silent spectator to this biased behaviour.”
He further said that the central government would bring a new cooperative policy and added that "whatever is needed to be done to strengthen the cooperative movement will be done by the Centre".
