The Indian Air Force (IAF) Chief B S Dhanoa in a press conference on Monday (4 March) asserted that the Balakot air strike was a success.

He also asserted that the IAF will not clarify over the number of casualty figures. He said that the IAF determines if it has hit the required targets and doesn’t count the casualty figures.

Speaking on Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, the IAF Chief said that the pilot’s return to the cockpit would depend on his medical fitness. He also assured that every required treatment would be extended to the Wing Commander.

He also took on the critics of the MiG-21 Bison by calling it a capable aircraft which has been upgraded with better radar, air-to air missiles and weapons system.
