Founder of Narayana group of hospitals and renowned senior cardiac surgeon, Dr Devi Shetty, on Monday assumed office as chairperson, Board of Governors, of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore. He will have a tenure of four years.
Stressing on how the digital revolution has drastically influenced the industry, Shetty said, “The world of business is more complicated than an open chest, and only the devotees of technology who can synthesise multiple data points will be able to make good decisions."
As per a report by Deccan Herald, the doctor said, “Over the years, IIM-B has grown to become India’s leading management institute that attracts the best and brightest students from across the country. The alumni of this institution are sought after by leading companies from across the world, including my own”.
Professor G Raghuram, director, IIM Bangalore, commented on Dr Shetty’s appointment saying, “It is a matter of immense happiness that one of the most well-known and respected persons in the field of medicine and in the business of hospital management, Dr Shetty, is IIM-B’s chairperson”.
