National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) on Saturday (15 December), announced that they will be partnering with Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M) to improve the digital skills of students and professionals in the IT Sector and IT-enabled Services (ITeS), Times of India reported.

To be able to support the industry and related stakeholders, they aim to build a workforce that can contribute to the same.

The report quoted a statement which called this MoU in line with Nascomm’s FutureSkills platform which aims to reskill or upskill forty lakh people in the IT-ITeS industry. This includes students waiting to enter the industry and members of other industries who need to learn upcoming digital skills.

The CEO of NASSCOM’s IT-ITeS Sector Skills Council, Amit Aggarwal was quoted as calling the MoU a significant catalyst for the industry’s, FutureSkills initiative. He claimed that this initiative aims to accelerate India on the path towards becoming the global hub for talent over emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), cyber security, big data, cloud computing and block-chain.
