In Rajasthan’s Bharatpur, Armed Smugglers Steal Cows From Temple Gaushala, Thrash Mahant

In Rajasthan, Bharatpur’s Kaman, cow-smugglers snatched three cows from a temple Gaushala and thrashed the mahant who tried to stop them on Tuesday (18 June) night, reports Dainik Bhaskar.

When informed, the police carried out search fir the smugglers but to no avail. The people, in protest,, carried out a rally and did gherao in front of DAG, ASP and Kaman CO who had arrived at the site of the incident.

The mahant injured in the incident told reporters that smugglers arrived in an Scorpio at the Gaushala, laced with weapons. They thrashed the mahant and took away three cows from the Gaushala. After taking note of the incident, people who arrived at the site took the injured mahant to the hospital and expressed anger and condemnation of the brazen crime.

A public meeting was held by the residents against cow smuggling and theft which was attended by Dang Development Board’s former chief Jawahar Singh Bedham who said that police should expose the cow-smuggling ring operating in the area within ten days else another meeting will be conducted and protest will be carried out.
