India And Sri Lanka To Participate In Eighth Edition Of Three-Days-Long Naval Exercise SLINEX

India and Sri Lanka ate set to partake in the eighth edition of the three-day-long naval exercise called 'SLINEX' off the coast of Trincomalee starting today (19 October), reports Financial Express.
The exercise will see the Indian Army deploying its anti-submarine warfare corvettes INS Kamorta and INS Kiltan along with a sizable count of advanced light helicopters, Chetak helicopters and also the Dornier maritime patrol aircraft. Meanwhile, Sri Lankan Navy will be deploying offshore patrol vessel Sayura and training ship Gajabahu.
The previous edition of SLINEX had been held along the coast of Visakhapatnam back in September 2019.
Meanwhile, it should also be noted that in the recent weeks, the Indian Navy has participated in a host of naval exercises including in one with the Japanese Navy which lasted for three days from 26-28 September.
Before that, Indian Navy had also partaken in a naval exercise with the Royal Australian Navy involving a gamut of complex naval manoeuvres, helicopter operations and anti-aircraft drills.
