India And UAE Security Agencies Bust Abu Dhabi Based Cell Of ISIS Recruiters Run By Indians; Three Arrested

Apart from extraditing, the UAE government has also been quietly deporting sympathisers of Islamic State since last year, reports Economic Times.
According to the report, UAE has deported many IS sympathisers from India including two residents of Jammu and Kashmir. An Abu Dhabi based cell of IS recruiters run by Indian nationals was busted in a coordinated action by Indian and UAE security agencies.
A cell comprising three UAE-based Indian youth recruited eight men from the Indian state of Tamil Nadu and one from Telangana and sent some of them to Syria to join the IS, says ET. NIA investigations of their activities have revealed that several people had been recruited for IS activities in south India by the module with some also travelling to Syria.
The three recruiters identified as Adnan Hussain from Karnataka, Mohammed Farhan from Maharashtra and Sheikh Azhar Al Islam from Kashmir, were arrested and deported to India.
Adnan Hussain alias Adnan Damudi is an accountant from Bhatkal in Karnataka who had been working in the UAE since 2012. He was found to have transferred funds to the account of Abdul Basith, a youth from Hyderabad who had been recruited to join the IS, to help him to travel to Syria along with four others recruited from Hyderabad.
He was also involved with Shafi Armar in managing two pro-IS media websites run by Al Isabah media and Ansar ul Tawheed, a breakaway group of the Indian Mujahideen, sources claimed.
UAE has been working with India to hand over terrorists and their masterminds, the counter-terror partnership gathered steam when UAE choose India as a critical pillar of its Look East Policy amid growing disenchantment with traditional ally Pakistan. The government reportedly believes that their UAE counterparts would deport Lashkar-e-Taiba operatives responsible for terror attacks in India, who have taken refuge in UAE.
Abu Dhabi, for instance, has voluntarily shared information with India on terror operatives and their networks. India and the UAE have agreed that credible steps must be taken to eliminate safe havens to terrorists and their activities.
