India Foils Khalistan Referendum Registration Bid, Blocks 40 Websites With Links To Banned Group 'Sikhs For Justice'

In a significant development, the Government on Sunday (5 July) blocked 40 websites linked to pro-Khalistan group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) which is an unlawful and banned outfit in India, reports Hindustan Times.
The websites which have been blocked were being used by the outfit to run a campaign to register supporters for its secessionist cause.
Based out of the United States (US), SFJ had been pushing to hold a 'Sikh Referendum 2020' and had declared 4 July as the inaugural day for registration of the outfit-organised referendum on Khalistan.
It should also be noted that earlier in the previous week, Indian government had also slapped its stringent Unlawful Activities Prevention Amendment (UAPA) Act on nine Khalistani terrorists, including on SFJ's Gurpatwant Singh Pannun.
Other terrorists who had been slapped with UAPA include Babbar Khalsa International (BKI)'s United Kingdom (UK) head Paramjit Singh, the Canadian head of Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) Hardeep Singh Nijjar, German members of Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF) Gurmeet Singh Bagga and Bhupinder Singh Bhinda, and four Pakistan based terrorists.
The said Pakistan based terrorists included BKI's head Wadhawa Singh, International Sikh Youth Federation's Lakhbir Singh, KZF's Ranjeet Singh and Khalistan Commando Force's Paramjit Singh.
