India Hands Over 200 Prefabricated Houses In Rakhine State To Myanmar Government

India on Tuesday (9 July) handed over prefabricated 200 houses to Myanmar, built for the Rakhine state under the Rakhine State Development Programme (RSDP) for $25 million, reports The Economic Times.
The project overall entailed the construction of 250 houses in three villages in the Northern Rakhine state, of which the first batch of 50 houses had been handed over to the Government of Myanmar by the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, during his state visit to the nation in December 2018.
India had signed into a development pact for Rakhine State in Myanmar in 2017 to support and assist displaced persons. This was appreciated not just by the Government of Myanmar, but also by the United Nations and other multi-natioinal agencies.
