India-Japan Annual Summit: Japanese Prime Minister Calls Modi One Of His Most Dependable Friends

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Sunday (28 October) has called his Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi, his most dependable friend, reports The Times of India.
To ensure a free and open Indo-Pacific, the Japanese PM said he would strengthen bilateral ties with India. India is driving the region and the world's prosperity. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was an outstanding leader of the great country, added Abe.
"We share a big win-win potential in all areas and Japan remains committed to supporting India's economic growth and Prime Minister Modi's Make in India initiative through high-speed rail, subways and other infrastructure, mobilising Japan's world-leading technologies," he said.
India is the only country with whom Japan holds annual bilateral summits, however, India has a similar arrangement with Russia too. PM Modi described India and Japan as a "winning combination" and said Japan was India's most trusted partner in its economic and technological progress.
Indian and Japanese Prime Ministers are meeting in Yamanashi, Japan under the thirteenth Indo-Japan Annual Summit . During the two day summit that began on Sunday (October 28), both will deliberate on a range of bilateral, regional and global issues.
