India Test-Fires Nuclear-Capable Agni-II, Third Missile Test In 72 Hours

India successfully test-fired ballistic missile Agni-ll at 10.22 am on Thursday morning from APJ Abdul Kalam Island off Odisha coast as part of user trials, ANI has reported. This is the third missile test that India has conducted in the last 72 hours, or three days.
The 20-metre long Agni-II is a medium-range ballistic missile that has two solid fuel stages and a post boost vehicle integrated into the missile’s re-entry vehicle. The missile has a launch weight of 17 tonnes and can carry a payload of 1,000 kg over a distance of 2,000 km.
The test of the nuclear-capable missile comes after the Army carried out a successful test of the extended range BrahMos Block III land attack cruise missile in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Wednesday (3 May). This was the second consecutive test of the missile in two days.
