India will target terror camps in Pakistan as long as the neighbouring nation continues to harbour terrorists, Major General Surendra Singh Mahal confirmed during the Armed Forces briefing on Thursday (28 February), ANI has reported.

This statement can be interpreted in a manner that India would not shy away from future preventive action against terror establishments in Pakistan if they pose a threat to India’s national security.

The Major General also said that Pakistan resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violations and targeted brigade, battalion headquarters but the immediate response by Indian Army foiled those efforts.

He added that mechanised forces have been placed on a standby and assured that the Indian Army is totally prepared for action.

Besides this, the Air Vice Marshal confirmed that the Indian air strike destroyed all the targets it was tasked to destroy.

With regards to the number of terrorist casualties in the air strikes, the Air Vice Marshal stated that it is premature to come to any conclusion. He though added that the IAF has achieved the result it wanted to achieve.
