The Indian Army has denied the Pakistani claim of killing five Indian troops in cross-border firing at the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir ( J&K), referring to the same as ‘fictitious’, reports PTI.

The claim was made by head of Pakistan Armed Forces’ media wing, Major General Asif Ghafoor on Twitter. In his tweet, he had stated that three Pakistani soldiers had died in firing from the Indian side, while the latter suffered five fatalities in response. Ghafoor also made claims about many Indian soldiers having been wounded and their bunkers being damaged.

"The claim made by Pakistan's military is fictitious," said a senior official from the Indian Army.

He added that Indian forces remain vigilant along the LoC and are ready to deal adequately with any Pakistani misadventure.

Following the revocation of Jammu & Kashmir’s special status, the Pakistani government in recent days has become more openly belligerent in pushing forth anti-India narratives and propaganda.
