The Indian Army has taken positions at strategic heights along the line of actual control (LAC) from Daulat Beg Oldie in the North to Chumar in the south. It has also made it clear to China that the troops will not be withdrawn from the heights, Economic Times has reported.

Following China's recent unprovoked military aggression to try and change the status quo at Pangong Tso, the Indian Army has taken positions at the strategic heights at Chushul, including Rezang La, Rechin La and near Black Top. India now controls the southern bank of Pangong Tso. The Indian forces have also thwarted multiple attempts by China to transgress across the LAC.

The report adds that the Army has also taken similar positions on the heights all across the LAC in Eastern Ladakh.

"Troops have taken up vantage points in all key areas from Daulat Beg Oldie to Chumar. These deployments are within our side of the border and have been undertaken to keep a check on any movements from the other side", says the report.

The Indian Army has also made it clear to China during talks that the troops posted in the Chusul sub-sector will not be withdrawn and that they were mobilised as a result of China's aggressive movements.
