In a massive debacle for the Indian cricket team, it has scored its lowest ever test match total of 36 runs in the ongoing series against Australia, six runs lower than the previous worst total of 42 runs which had been scored in 1974 against England, reports Fox Sports.

This comes on the day three of the Adelaide Oval match, with Australian team's Josh Hazelwood and Pat Cummins unleashing a nightmare for the Indian counterparts. While the former took five wickets by giving mere eight runs, the latter took away four Indian wickets by giving away just 21 runs.

Skipper Virat Kohli scored only four runs, to finally be caught out by a diving Cameron Green at gully. This came at a time when the Indian team had already lost five wickets for four runs in 5.5 overs.

Josh Hazlewood took Mayank Agarwal’s (9) wicket with his first ball of the innings and Ajinkya Rahane’s (0) with his fifth.

India's innings ended at 36 runs following Mohammed Shami got retired hurt after being struck on the right arm.

The Indian cricket team is presently on its first international tour to Australia since the COVID-19 pandemic.
