Indian Diplomat Calls Out Pakistan’s ‘Perennial India Bashing’ At UN, Says Religious Minorities Fleeing The Country In Thousands

Calling out Pakistan’s dubious track record on Human Rights at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Geneva on Wednesday, India said religious minorities are fleeing the country in thousands.
Speaking at the 45th Session of the UNHRC, Indian diplomat Pawan Badhe also stated that Pakistan has “a culture of hatred” and said that the country is intolerant of “anybody having modern views on human rights”.
“While the world has progressed well, Pakistan is still at the crossroads to understand the real meaning of modern laws, democracy and human rights.” Badhe, the First Secretary at Permanent Mission of India at UN in Geneva, said.
The Indian diplomat also called out Pakistan’s incessant diatribe against the Indian leadership. At various forums, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan and Pakistani diplomats have attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Bharatiya Janata Party, and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh using choicest words.
“We are not baffled that Pakistan does well when it comes to inciting hatred against religious minorities, and targeting our leadership with hate speeches,” the Indian diplomat added, saying, “[Pakistan’s] well-cherished and inherited culture of hatred makes it the perfect candidate for carrying forward the legacy of intolerance against anybody having modern views on human rights”.
India said Pakistan’s “incessant attempts” to malign it will not change the fact that “tens of thousands of minorities would not stop fleeing Pakistan”.
Last month, during Prime Minister Khan’s address (pre-recorded video statement) at the UN General Assembly, Indian diplomat Mijito Vinito, First Secretary of the Permanent Mission of the UN, walked out of the session.
Exercising its right to reply later, the Indian mission at the UN in New York had pointed out that Khan is the “same person who referred to the terrorist Osama Bin Laden as a ‘martyr’ in his Parliament”.
