Indian Oil Plans Pipeline To Supply Jet Fuel To Upcoming Jewar International Airport In UP

The Indian Oil Corporation is planning to build a 36-km long pipeline for the supply of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) to the upcoming Jewar International Airport in Uttar Pradesh, reports Economic Times.
According to the report, the Indian Oil, which is India's largest refiner and supplier of ATF, has submitted an expression of interest (EoI) to the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory board for the construction of the pipeline for supplying the jet fuel.
The board has launched a public consultation and will accept comments from everyone on the Indian Oil's proposal until 18 February.
Indian Oil reportedly plans to construct a 36 km pipeline from Haryana's Palwal, which is company's supply centre, to Jewar Airport. The jet fuel will be sourced from Indian Oil's refinery at Mathura.
With the planned pipeline to the Jewar Airport, the company expects to meet an estimated jet fuel demand of 0.7 million tonne per year by 2029-30, and 1.8 million tonne a year by 2039-40.

The Jewar Airport is a proposed greenfield airport in UP's Gautam Buddh Nagar district. The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) is the implementing agency for the project on behalf of the UP Govt.
The contract for developing and operating the airport, which will ease the burden on Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), has been awarded to Zurich Airport.
