IRCTC Executive Lounge
The Indian Railways has opened up a new state-of-the-art executive lounge at the platform number 1 of the Varanasi railway station.
The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has set up and will be managing this executive lounge.
The lounge is designed on the Indian concept of Panchtattva, which is a balance of the five elements, namely: earth, sky, water, fire and air.
It will be offering the visitors several complementary and paid services, including a multi-cuisine buffet facility, business centre with phone and laptop facility, airport-like modern amenities, wash and change service etc.
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw expressed gratitude to Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi for inaugurating this facility which will provide enhanced comfort to the passengers.
Vaishnaw further explained that the Indian Railways is working towards developing railway stations that have importance from a religious and cultural perspective.
This will end up encouraging travel, pilgrimage and tourism and also facilitate the local economy, Financial Express reports.
The national transporter along with the IRCTC has been opening up such executive lounges in different railway stations across the country, the latest one being at New Delhi last month.
