In order to prevent possible derailments, Indian Railways (IR) will soon implement its Online Monitoring of Rolling Stock (OMRS) system, reports The Financial Express. According to officials, the first phase of the project will be implemented between Bhusaval and Jalgaon and Wardha and Nagpur in Maharashtra.
Although tested in 2013 between Delhi and Panipat, the OMRS hasn’t been implemented till date. IR has selected 25 routes to install it under the first phase at a cost of Rs 113 crore. The second phase will see implementation on the Surat-Mumbai and Mumbai-Roha routes.
Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
