India's Ambassador to the United States Taranjit Singh Sandhu on Wednesday (8 July) said that India and US are working together to combat the Covid-19 pandemic and that Ayurveda practitioners and researchers in both the countries are planning to inititate joint clinical trials of Ayurvedic formulations against the novel Coronavirus, reports Times of India.
In a virtual interaction with a group of Indian-American scientists, researchers and academicians, Sandhu said that vast network of institutional engagements have brought the scientific communities in the two countries together.
He further said that institutions in both the countries have been collaborating to promote Ayurveda through joint research, teaching and training programs.
“Our scientists have been exchanging knowledge and research resources on this front,” he said.
On the Covid-19 vaccine development, Sandhu said that there were at least three ongoing collaborations between Indian vaccine companies and US-based institutions.
He noted that these collaborations will not only benefit India and US, but will also be beneficial for billions of people around the world.
Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
