Falling by one spot compared to the last time, India ended up ranking ninth as being the ‘most valuable nation brand in the world’. This is despite increasing its brand value by five per cent from the previous time. A report was produced by Brand Finance on Nation Brands in 2018. India’s brand value stood at USD 2,159 billion this year as compared to USD 2,046 billion in 2016.

US’s brand value has grown by a whopping 23 per cent to USD 25,899 billion as compared to last year. China’s brand value is estimated at USD 12,779 billion and stood second this time, Financial Express reported.

India occupied the seventh position in 2016. Taking into account the royalty relief mechanism adopted in companies, Brand Finance quantifies the brand value of 100 countries to produce the report. Some of the research elements include revenues, brand valuation, royalty rate etc.

India saw an increase by 22 ranks in the United Nations’ e-governance index based on the levels of digitisation in administration and government. This time, India managed to get past several developed countries of Europe and the likes to occupy the ninth position in brand value.
