The number of wireless broadband subscribers in India is on the increase Television Post, has reported. According to the report from Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), broadband subscription in India has increased by 3.89 per cent at the end of September.
According to the report of broadband subscribers from 308 operators, the number of broadband subscribers has increased from 46.366 crores at the end of August to reach 48.170 crore subscribers.
On the other hand, wired broadband subscription has declined by 0.18 per cent to reach 1.799 crores. The top five in the wired broadband subscription providers are BSNL, Bharti Airtel, Atria Convergence Technologies, MTNL and Hathway Cable & Datacom with 91.5 lakhs, 22.4 lakhs, 13.6 lakhs, 8 lakhs and 7 lakhs subscribers respectively.
In another report by the TRAI, telephone subscriber base grew by 23.2 lakhs to reach a total subscriber base of 119.14 crores in September. Reliance Jio, with 1.302 crore new subscribers, continued to gain in September at a monthly growth rate of 5.44 per cent.
