India’s Covid-19 Hotspot Districts On Course To Become Non-Hotspots: Health Minister Says Situation Improving

Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr Harsh Vardhan shared yesterday (26 April) that the COVID-19 situation in the nation is improving as several hotspot districts (HSDs) are moving towards being non-hotspot districts (NHSDs), reports Press Trust of India.
Dr Vardhan made the assertion during his visit to the AIIMS Delhi's Trauma centre. There, he lauded the AIIMS for ensuring a 24X7 monitoring of confirmed and suspected patients via digital platforms, video and voice call technologies.
Dr Vardhan also reiterated that thesStates with a heavy viral load should focus on the strong implementation of the national lockdown measures and containment strategy.
The Ministry declared a total of 170 districts of the nation as COVID-19 hotspots, and another 207 districts as non-hotspots on 15 April, following which there has been no update of the number of hotspots from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).
Meanwhile, it should be noted that so far, a total of 5,913 patients have been successfully cured of the COVID-19 disease across the nation, taking the recovery rate to 21.9 per cent. At the same time, 826 lives have been lost to the disease so far.
