Infra Boost For J&K: Centre Approves Rs 574 Crore Annual Plan For National Highway Works

In a boost for national highways development in the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), the Government has approved a Rs 574.16 crore annual plan for the ongoing 2020-21 year, reports The Economic Times.
Of the total sum approved, a massive share of Rs 220.68 crore will be spent on building of three flyovers in Srinagar alone, which will be 3.23 kilometres long, on National Highway-44 that connects Srinagar and Jammu. The three flyovers will come up at Bemina, Sanatnagar and Nowgam.
Following the approval from the Government, the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has issued directives for preparation of estimates for the proposed works in the approved plan, incorporating the technical parameters and designs as per IRC codal provisions, or the latest circulars of the Ministry, and submission to it for consideration.
