Intelligence Agencies Flag Indonesian NGO With Links To Lashkar-e-Taiba For Involvement In Fomenting Delhi Riots

Delhi riots

In a major development, the security agencies have flagged an Indonesia based non-government organisation (NGO) with links to terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT)'s charity wing Falah-e-Insaniyat Foundation (FIF) for raising funds online in the name of Delhi communal riots, reports Hindustan Times.

The Indonesian NGO was collecting money in the garb of promise to send it to Muslim victims of the riots by using images and messages as a propaganda tool. The same money was then being routed into India via Dubai through a hawala route.

The NGO in question is a highly radicalised group and as per reports it had helped the Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JUD),the parent organization of LeT, in 2015 in executing outreach activities in Rohingya camps in the Banda Aceh region of Indonesia.

The development comes out just a day after Union Minister for Home Affairs Amit Shah had apprised the Parliament that money had been funneled abroad to foment the riots which went on to kill 53 persons, while injuring more than 500 others.

It should be noted that during his address to the Parliament, Shah had also informed the fellow parliamentarians that Delhi Police had already arrested five on the charge of distributing money ahead of the violence breaking out in the Capital city.

Additionally, it should be noted that Pakistan based cyber warriors and a large number of Karach-based tactical groups have been spreading misinformation and toxic propaganda to defame India in the international community.

Their activities have been brought to the notice of the Indian government.
