INX Media Scam: No Respite For P Chidambaram As Tihar Stay Gets Extended Till 3 October

No respite is in sight for senior Congress leader P Chidambaram in connection with the INX Media scam as a Delhi special court extended his judicial remand for 14 days. This means that he will remain in Tihar Jail till 3 October, ANI reported.
Chidambaram’s lawyers had earlier argued against the judicial custody extension by claiming that he was suffering from various ailments and had lost a lot of weight during his jail stay. Various media reports though had earlier claimed that his health was fine.
Incidentally during his Tihar stay, Chidambaram would be the neighbour of senior Karnataka Congress leader D K Shivakumar.
Shivakumar is being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money laundering case. Both Chidambaram and Shivakumar would be housed in jail number 7.
Incidentally jail 7 also contains other high-profile inmates like Agusta middleman Christian Michel and corporate lobbyist Deepak Talwar.
