ISRO Schedules Launch Of Satellite Named HysIS, Along With 30 Others

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has scheduled the launch of PSLV-C43, also called HysIS Mission. PSLV will carry Hyper Spectral Imaging Satellite (HysIS), a micro and 29 other nano satellites from First Launch Pad (FLP) of Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC), Sriharikota, as reported by Business Standard.
Lift off time is scheduled to 09.58 Hrs IST on 29 November 2018 and the countdown will commence from 05.58 Hrs IST on 28 November 2018, as per updates from ISRO. The mission time is just over 112 minutes.
The PSLV-C43 is a core alone variant (PSLV-CA) of the marvellous modular design of the PSLV rockets. The four-stage has alternating solid and liquid stages engines.
The payload is 641.5 kg out of which 380 kg is shared by HysIS satellite, and the rest 261.5 kg is shared by 30 overseas satellites.
The primary satellite HysIS will be placed in the 636-km polar sun-synchronous orbit within 18 minutes after the launch. After placing the HysIS, the rocket will be brought to a lower altitude of 503 km from 642 km to launch the other satellites.
HysIS, with a mission lifespan of five years, will study the earth’s surface near infrared and shortwave infrared regions of the electromagnetic spectrum.
The smaller satellites are from eight different countries with 23 of them from the US and rest from Australia, Canada, Columbia, Finland, Malaysia, Netherlands and Spain.
