Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is set to launch into space ten satellites today (7 November) via its established Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) from the Sriharikota based Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC), reports Economic Times.

The mission would mark the 51st mission for the PSLV-C49 rocket vehicle. It would carry nine international satellites along with its own all-weather earth imaging satellite called "EOS-01". The EOS-01 satellite would serve as an earth observation satellite with applications in areas of agriculture, forestry and disaster management support.

Meanwhile, it should be noted that the nine international satellites are being launched by ISRO under a commercial agreement with the NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) which functions under the Department of Space.

The launch has been scheduled to be held at 1502 Hrs IST subject to weather conditions. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ISRO has closed its launch viewing gallery. Also, no gathering of media personnel is planned at SDSC.

The nine foreign satellites are from: Lithuania (1-technology demonstrator), Luxembourg (4 maritime application satellites by Kleos Space) and the US (4-Lemur multi mission remote sensing satellites).
