ISRO To Launch Radar Imaging Satellite RISAT-2B On 22 May To Keep A Check On Border Infiltration

The Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO) is all set for the launch of the RISAT-2B, a radar imaging earth observation satellite, from its facility at Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC), Sriharikota on 22 May, reports WION.
According to the report, RISAT-2B, along with the members of her series, have been designed to keep a check on border infiltration.
"The launch is tentatively scheduled at 0527 hours IST (Indian Standard Time) on May 22, 2019, subject to weather conditions," ISRO said in a statement on Saturday (11 May).
The satellite will be launched on board the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle, PSLV-C46, which is a trusted workhorse of the space agency. This will reportedly be the forty eighth mission of the PSLV.
The RISAT-2B will be placed into an orbit of 555 km at an inclination of 37 degree.
"PSLV-C46 is the 14th flight of PSLV in `core-alone` configuration (without the use of solid strap-on motors). This will be the 72nd launch vehicle mission from SDSC SHAR, Sriharikota and 36th launch from the First Launchpad," the statement added.
According to the statement by the agency, ISRO has also made arrangements for the public to view its launch from the recently opened viewer’s gallery at the SDSC, Sriharikota.
