The Supreme Court has ordered removal of age limit for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2019, reports India Today.
The order directs the National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the exam, to remove the age limit of 25 years and below for JEE Main 2019 and JEE Advanced 2019 applicants.
According to the India Today report, candidates of all ages who were earlier not allowed to appear for the exam may now do so. However, there is confusion about how the apex court’s order will be implemented and from which year.
The JEE Advanced exam is scheduled for 19 May 2019 and will be conducted by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee.
JEE Advanced is the engineering entrance test conducted for admission to the prestigious IITs in the country. Candidates have to qualify the JEE Main examination in order to be eligible for JEE Advanced.
