JEE Main 2019: While Most High-Scorers Aim For Computer Science From IITs, Topper Dhruv May Choose IISc Bangalore

The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the results for the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) on 19 January (Saturday) in record time: 12 days ahead of the scheduled results date. While 15 students scored a perfect 100 percentile, here are some of the toppers and their goals:
Uttarakhand topper Pallav Semwal scored 99.95 percentile in his second attempt. Last year, he cracked JEE Main too but was unhappy with his JEE Advanced score. “I decided to drop a year and re-appear with better preparation. Balancing between board exams and JEE preparation is a little tough,” said Semwal. Pallav aims to pursue computer science from IIT-Bombay, reports Indian Express.
The topper from Kerala, 17-year-old Vishnu Vinod recorded 99.9990801 percentile score in the examination. He scored full marks in chemistry but lost by a sliver in mathematics and physics. As of now, Vinod’s focus is on clearing the JEE-Advanced examination scheduled on 19 May and if luck favours, getting admission for computer science engineering in any of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), as reported by Indian Express.
Furthermore, the exam topper Dhruv Arora, who scored 100 percentile said that he is not unilaterally aiming for admission in the IITs, unlike other JEE aspirants. He said that he might choose Indian Institute of Science (IISc) over IITs, as per reports by Indian Express.
The NTA will organise the second edition of JEE Main in April this year, with the registration process starting from next month.
