JEE Mains: Bombay High Court Says Students From Flood-Hit Parts Of Maharashtra Can Seek Re-Examination

On Tuesday (1 September 2020), Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court said that the students residing in the flood-hit parts of Maharashtra can seek a re-examination, after it refused to stay the JEE-Main exam starting 9 am today, Livemint reports.
The court said that any student residing in flood-hit parts of Maharashtra's Vidarbha region who cannot reach the exam centre or reaches late can apply to the National Testing Agency to seek a re-examination.
The students can apply via their centre coordinator.
"The situation is grim in several districts due to flood. Students should not suffer for no fault on their part,” the bench consisting of Justices Ravi Deshpande and Pushpa Ganediwala said.
The bench said the National Testing Agency (NTA) shall consider such applications, check their veracity and decide after consulting with the district collector concerned within a period of 15 days.
