Jet Airways To Resume Domestic Operations From Q1 Of 2022: Report

Jalan Kalrock consortium, the new owners of Jet Airways, has confirmed that the airline will resume its operations from the first quarter of 2022 onward.

The representatives of the group have toured multiple airports in the last month for the purpose and Jet is likely to dive back into the civil aviation sector through a flight from Mumbai to New Delhi.

The airlines will then restart its international short-haul flights from the third or the fourth quarter of 2022. It is aiming to build up its fleet of planes to 50 in three years and subsequently 100 in about five years.

Murari Lal Jalan, lead member of the concerned consortium, told the Economic Times, “The aircraft are being selected based on competitive long term leasing solutions. It is the first time in the history of aviation that an airline grounded for more than two years is being revived and we are looking forward to being a part of this historic journey.”

He added, “The brand Jet Airways has a huge loyalty-base and we are confident that we will be able to capitalise and create new benchmarks. We would like to assure all our loyal Jet Airways guests that your favourite airline will soon be back in the skies.”

For a change, the Jet Airways will now be headquartered in the Delhi NCR and its senior management team will work from a corporate office in Gurugram.

Its state-of-the-art training centre located at the ‘Global One’ office in Kurla will be used for the in-house training of the Jet Airways team.
