Jharkhand: Chief Minister Raghubar Das, Ratan Tata Lay Foundation For Ranchi Cancer Hospital

The Chief Minister of Jharkhand Raghubar Das and Industrialist Ratan Tata laid foundation of the Ranchi Cancer Hospital and Research Centre at Sukurhuttu near the Ranchi on Saturday (10 November), reports The Pioneer.

The chief minister of BJP-led Jharkhand government stated that the demand of the hospital was raised during Momentum Jharkhand Summit in 2017 and praised the contribution of Tata Group, requesting the Group to assist in all-round development of rural Jharkhand.

He said that he has sought help from Tata to develop the villages of 1,000 panchayats in the State and provide street lights in Kolhan.

He also stated that Jharkhand residents will not have to go to other states for Cancer treatments after two years, pointing out that the construction of six medical colleges in the state will also be completed in four years. The construction of AIIMS has also started along with the Cancer hospital, he added.

Padma Vibhushan awardee Ratan Tata also congratulated the Chief Minister for the noble initiative saying that it would help lakhs of people.

“I believe the government at the Centre and the state governments have displayed considerable vision in setting up a string up cancer hospitals for screening of cancer early and treat cancer at reasonable cost and provide access to State of the art hospitals in India,” he added.
