Jharkhand Govt To Bring 75 Per Cent Reservation In Private Sector Jobs

Following the footsteps of many states including Andhra Pradesh and Haryana, now Jharkhand plans to implement reservation for locals in private sector jobs in the state.

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday (26 January) announced that his government will soon formulate a new domicile policy and reserve 75 per cent jobs in the private sector for the locals, reports The Times of India.

Further the Chief Minister said that 2021 will be the year of appointments, indicating the government plans to start the recruitment for state government jobs through Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Examination.

“Our government has resolved to dedicate this year to employment generation. Our aim is to provide employment to the maximum possible number of people,” the Chief Minister Soren said.

“Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Examination rules were formulated to ensure that employment drives conducted through the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) are regularized. The new rules, constituted after decades, will enable different agencies to conduct recruitment tests throughout the year,” he said.

“Apart from government jobs, Soren said his government also aims to extend financial support to encourage entrepreneurship among the youth. For that very purpose, the Chief Minister' Employment Generation Scheme has been introduced by our government. Through it, loans up to Rs 25 lakh will be provided with 40 per cent subsidy,” he added.

Announcing a host of welfare measures on Republic Day, the Chief Minister also said that the government will soon recruit school teachers and police personnel.
