According to security forces, Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammad has activated new launch pads across the Line Of Control (LoC) to push new terrorists into Jammu & Kashmir (J&K), reports Hindustan Times (HT).

According to senior J&K police officials, JeM’s renewed efforts to recruit terrorists could be attributed to the elimination of most of Jaish commanders in the Kashmir valley by Indian security forces.

The officials also added that Mohammad Umair, JeM chief Masood Azhar’s nephew, has either been killed or has retreated into Pakistan. Umair was seen around Pulwama in February, when a JeM terrorist carried out a fidayeen (suicide) attack on a CRPF convoy, killing 40 jawans.

Indian forces have also killed Azhar’s elder brother Ibrahim Athar’s eldest son Usman Haider and Azhar’s brother-in-law Abdul Rasheed Kamran’s son Talha Rasheed. After Pulwama attack, Jaish divisional commander Kamran was also gunned down on 18 February.

“While Pakistan has taken some uncontrolled action against its nationals involved in terrorism to curry favour with Financial Action Task Force (FATF), it is continuing to shelter Indian fugitives like Dawood Ibrahim gang, remnants of Indian Mujahideen and Sikh radicals. If Pakistan really means business, why provide shelter and comfort to Indian fugitives,” said an official.

Arrests In Delhi

Recently a top Jaish-e-Mohammed operative Sajjad Khan was arrested in Delhi on 22 March. The arrest was made by the Delhi Police Special Cell. Khan is believed to have been a close associate of Pulwama terror attack mastermind Mudassir who was gunned down by security forces earlier this month.
