J&K: Daytime Restrictions Lifted From 90 Per Cent Of The Kashmir Valley, Says Administration

In a major development, the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) administration on Monday (2 September) said that more than 90 per cent of the Kashmir Valley has been freed of any day time restrictions, reports Financial Express.
While addressing a press conference, J&K Principal Secretary Rohit Kansal said that of the 105 functional police stations in the Valley, 92 have been freed of any daytime restrictions, which is up from the figure of 81 which had been reported last week.
“This makes 90 per cent of the valley free of daytime restrictions of any kind,” Kansal said.
“Jammu and Ladakh already continue to be free from all such restrictions and in totality, we have 93 per cent of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh free of any prohibitory orders today,” Kansal added.
Further, the J&K principal secretary said that over 26,000 landlines are functional in the valley. He also said that in its latest decision, the administration had decided to open 29 more telephone exchanges, which will bring the total number of functional exchanges to 76 out of a total of 95.
