In a major development in the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), the police authorities have chargesheeted an Imam and one other person for delivering provocative speeches at the funeral of terrorist Mohammad Rafi Bhat in May 2018, reports The Hindu.

The development took place on Monday (2 March) when the police booked the duo under the stringent provisions of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA). The two have been identified as Muhammad Rafiq Shah, a resident of Shuhama, Ganderbal and Bashir Ahmad Lone, a resident of Brein Nishat.

Bhat, on whose funeral the Imam had made the speech, had took up gun in 2018 and was killed within 40 hours of the development in an encounter in which five Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists had been gunned down by security forces, including the terror outfit's commander Saddam Padder.
