Three Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists were gunned down by the Security forces in an encounter on Wednesday (3 June) in the Kangan area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

The three slain JeM terrorists reportedly included a Pakistani terrorist Ismail Alvi aka Fauji Bhai among others. Alvi is believed to be a relative of JeM chief Masood Azhar, reports Times Now.

Alvi had reportedly hatched a plan to carry out a vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attack in Pulwama recently which was averted by the security forces. He had also prepared the IED for February 2019 Pulwama attack, in which 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were killed.

Following specific inputs about the presence of the terrorists, a search and cordon operation was launched in the Kangan area by the security forces.

The joint operation was launched by the Indian Army’s Rashtriya Rifle, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the state police in Kangan Murran village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama.

The gunfight started after the terrorists opened fire on security forces.

Arms and ammunition have been recovered from the encounter site, ANI has reported.
