Two terrorists were killed on Saturday (30 May) in an encounter underway between security forces and terrorists in South Kashmir's Kulgam district.
The gun battle was triggered when the terrorists fired at a Cordon And Search Operation (CASO) party launched by the army and police following specific information about the presence of terrorists hiding in the area.
"Two terrorists neutralised in the on going operation at Wanpora Kulgam. Joint operation in progress," police said in a brief statement.
Arms and ammunition have been recovered, while search operation is still underway, ANI has reported.
On Monday (25 May), the security forces had gunned down two terrorists in the Manzgam area of Kulgam district.
Earlier on 19 May, two terrorists of the Pakistan-based terror outfit Hizbul Mujahiddeen were neutralised by the security forces after a 15-hour-long gunbattle in Nawakadal in Srinagar.

The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
