JNU Administration Moves Delhi HC Against JNUSU Leaders, Protesting Students And Delhi Police

The administration of the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on Tuesday (19 November) moved to the Delhi High Court seeking proceedings of contempt against Delhi Police, several of its students, and leaders of the JNU Student's Union, reports Asian News International (ANI).
The development comes, as Delhi Police, and the protesting students and JNUSU leaders have allegedly violated the High Court's earlier ruling which restrains any act of protestation within 100 meters of the administrative block of the university. The said order had been instituted by the court in August 2017.
It should be noted that the plea filed by JNU administration comes at a time when JNU students Monday (18 November) carried out a protest march towards the Parliament, during the course of which they were stopped by the security forces, with around 100 of them being detained.
