Kargil has become the first Ladakh district to become coronavirus free after the fourth patient who tested positive was discharged from the hospital post recovery, All India Radio has reported.
The patient who tested negative in two consecutive Covid-19 tests was given a warm farewell by doctors and other medical staffers present at the scene. The individuals who had come in contact with the patients have also been discharged by the health authorities.
Ladakh MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyail also thanked all Covid-19 warriors for making Kargil a coronavirus free district.
It was earlier reported that Goa became the first zero COVID-19 state in the country after the last of the seven active cases tested negative.
Goa reported a total of seven positive cases, of whom six had travel history and one was the brother of a positive patient.
The last of the seven cases in the coastal state was detected on 3 April, and since then all have been discharged after their samples tested negative post-treatment.
Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
