A 19-year-old pregnant woman identified as Bhagyashree was found murdered in Karnataka’s Madikeri town on Wednesday (6 May), Times of India has reported.
Her husband Sahul Hameed is the prime suspect in the matter.
The two had been married in August 2019 but only registered their marriage on 29 April. Following the registration Bhagyashree also changed her name to Suhan.
The mother then rushed to Bhagyashree’s home but found her lying motionless on the bed. Neighbours were alerted by the mother’s cries and the cops were called.
A complaint was later filed by the mother and the cops have now arrested Hameed.
Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
